“We are instructed to ask that you be mindful of the following facts: Our client is not a suspect in the investigation; his work as minister of police did not entail any involvement in operational issues relating to how investigators dealt with their cases; the appropriate person for you to approach for a response to your queries is the SAPS spokesperson, Mr Vish Naidoo,” read parts of their letter.
