For the first time in a long time, the South African Football Association has reacted swiftly to a national football crisis.
Safa has punished referee Siyabonga Nkomo and his assistant Thamaga Sebati for their schoolboy errors that saw Moroka Swallows walk away with three points against Sekhukhune United.
Nkomo and Sebati did not see anything wrong with the push on goalkeeper Badra Sangare. After the match, the pair ran for cover heading under the tunnel as angry Sekhukhune supporters aimed for their heads with objects. Thanks to Safa, they will not be officiating any match anytime soon, after being slapped with a 16-week rehabilitation programme.
