Charmza of the week: DIRCO
It may well sound a bit of a scratched record and a touch self-indulgent, but we pause again to anoint our country as the charmza of the week for standing up for what is right on the global stage.
This time it involved the bully Jewish state of Israel for its indiscriminate attacks carried out in Lebanon, ostensibly in its war on Hezbollah.
Once again, as was the case with the bombardment of the Gaza Strip, thousands of innocent lives were snuffed out while Israel also assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassa Nasrallah.
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (Dirco), issued a strongly worded condemnation and called for the UN to follow suit.
It also warned of the escalating tension between Israel and Iran, which fired several missiles into Israel, followed by threats of retaliation made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Way to go Dirco.
