Charmza: Rulani Mokwena
Rulani Mokwena will be flying the South African flag high up on the continent after he was appointed as head coach of Casablanca-based Wydad Athletic, the biggest club in Morocco.
Mokwena was still weeping when the massive opportunity came knocking.
This is after he was sacked by Mamelodi Sundowns, a club he coached with many achievements, when Wydad offered him a chance of a lifetime.
Last week, he told Sunday World that he needed to recover and that he was going to recharge his batteries at his amateur club Black Poison in Soweto.
But now he will be running the touchline in charge of one of Africa’s biggest clubs.
Mokwena’s story is a classic case of when one door closes, a bigger one opens.
