Charmza: Rulani Mokwena
Rulani Mokwena will be flying the South African flag high up on the continent after he was appointed as head coach of Casablanca-based Wydad Athletic, the biggest club in Morocco. Â
Mokwena was still weeping when the massive opportunity came knocking. Â
This is after he was sacked by Mamelodi Sundowns, a club he coached with many achievements, when Wydad offered him a chance of a lifetime. Â
Last week, he told Sunday World that he needed to recover and that he was going to recharge his batteries at his amateur club Black Poison in Soweto. Â
But now he will be running the touchline in charge of one of Africa’s biggest clubs. Â
Mokwena’s story is a classic case of when one door closes, a bigger one opens. Â
