This attention-seeking social development minister – during the devastating Marshalltown fire this week that claimed dozens of lives – saw it fit to blame apartheid for government’s failure to timeously respond to emergencies.
The opportunism to blame apartheid when it is time to account for failures of the government of the day has become an easy scapegoat. Shame on you, Madam Minister! Maybe you need to focus on bringing about a decent basic income grant, not that embarrassing R350 your government is dishing out.
