It is ironic that the DA until there was an uproar, saw nothing wrong with having an unrepentant racist like Renaldo Gouws in their ranks. The party was even willing to reward him with a lawmaking post that comes with close to R1-million in perks, at the behest of the taxpayers he is fond of denigrating.
The DA’s decision to appoint Gouws as an MP is shocking considering the party’s self-professed commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
Gouws’ views are not only offensive but also deeply hurtful to black people.
One thing is clear: in the DA’s world, diversity isn’t just about race –it’s about embracing a wide array of misguided and downright offensive beliefs.
