In a statement issued after her tragic death over the weekend, Dr Zamambo Siphokazi Mkhize’s church, Mount Zion Christian Centre, said ‘her blood will speak’.
Mkhize, a staff member at KwaZulu-Natal’s Harry Gwala Hospital in Pietermaritzburg, was allegedly on duty on Friday when she departed for lunch and never returned.
She was reported as unresponsive on her phone, so her husband allegedly called the car tracking company to follow her vehicle. Eventually, it was found with her inside the boot.
J18 Road murder
The vehicle was found at Imbali Unit J18 Road.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved daughter of Zion, Dr Zamambo Mkhize-Mbeje,” the church said in a statement.
“Our hearts are heavy with grief as we come to terms with this unexpected loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
“Dr Zamambo’s passing is one of the hardest things that I, as a bishop and father, have ever experienced, Such violence and brutality, but why?”
Mkhize was regarded as a kind person, according to Sarah Dlamini, who claimed to have worked with her.
“I worked with her for nine years, and every day her life brought glory to God. She was known only as a kind person who gave her best in all circumstances,” Dlamini said.
“As we remember her, we remember God, as she taught us to do,” Dlamini shared on a Facebook post.
Another woman found in a boot
In the meantime, Plessislaer police announced that they are looking into a murder case following the discovery of a 39-year-old woman’s body in the boot of her car on J18 Road in Imbali on Friday night.
Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the spokesperson for police, said: “Police responded to the scene and found the body of a woman with what looked like assault marks and a gunshot wound.
“The suspects are unknown at this stage, and the motive for the killing has not yet been established, although robbery could not be ruled out.”
