Johannesburg – South African Xhosa singer and songwriter, Simphiwe Dana, has lost her mother.
It is unclear how Dana’s mother passed away at this stage.
The singer confirmed the news in a tweet on Wednesday evening.

On 30 June 2021, Dana, revealed that her mother, who is a retired nurse, had tested positive for Covid-19.
In a Tweet, the star said, “My mom has been diagnosed with the corona virus. She is a retired nurse who went back to work for an old age home because nursing to her is a calling. She is recovering at home and seems to be ok. She has diabetes. Still I have faith she will pull through.”
Dana said that her mother was also a diabetic patient.
