Traffic officer accused of killing girlfriend, remanded in custody

Kabelo Peter Duba, a 34- year-old Limpopo traffic officer, was denied bail by the Polokwane and Lebowakgomo magistrate’s courts on Monday for the alleged murder of his girlfriend.

The woman has been identified as 26-year-old Kedidimetse Moche, who was a student at The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Polokwane Campus.


Duba, who also faces charges of an unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition, theft of deceased’s cellphone and defeating the ends of justice, has been remanded in custody.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said that Duba will next appear on September 4. 

He was arrested at his homestead in Penina Park on August 24 for allegedly killing Moche, whose body was found dumped under a bridge along the R37 in Lebowakgomo in Limpopo.
