Toilets of many Sandton residents were brimming with human excreta because of water shortages that have hit Africa’s Richest Square Mile suburb.
The catastrophe befalling the city started on Thursday, as businesses and homes experienced water shortages, with some residents claiming the smell of human waste was nauseating and unbearable as toilets lacked flushing water, and the sewage spillage experienced in several parts of Sandton.
Word has it that the crisis largely brought a stop to customers on the way to dine at their favourite eateries, while several clubs are said to have shut their doors because of the unbearable stench.
