Zambia too lifts Malema’s travel ban.

After declaring Julius Malema persona non grata – an undesirable individual – more than
seven years ago, Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema yesterday lifted the travel ban on the EFF commander in chief.

Edgar Lungu, the then-president of Zambia, banned Malema for supporting Hichilema, the opposition leader, following his arrest in April 2017, for allegedly failing to yield to Lungu’s motorcade.

From Botswana, where he was attending President Duma Boko’s inauguration, an elated Malema told Sunday World yesterday that Hichilema, who was also present at the
jamboree, confirmed the lifting of the ban in his country.
