The ANCYL NYTT member Fasiha Hassan delivered the political report of the ANC’s youth wing on Saturday, nearly a decade later.
While the league has struggled to regain its lost influence in society and the governing ANC’s internal politics, the ambitious political summary stated that it is aimed at redefining what it means to be a young person.
The league stated that it was embarking on the renewal of the young lions in order to rejuvenate the spirit of activism and also build social justice and economic empowerment.
The league also touched on the high rate of unemployment and stated that it is aimed at helping youngsters build their futures. Touching on the fourth industrial revolution, the league stated that the skills gap that existed in the country needed to be addressed.
The movement stated that it is agitating for the expropriation of land without compensation.
ANCYL also states that the plight of women and young women in society is still rife, and the report found that women are being treated like second-class citizens.
This is a developing story
