Trouble follows Shebeshxt a week after his release from prison

Controversial Limpopo musician Shebeshxt sustained injuries on his face when he was hit with a beer bottle by a fan during a performance in Mohodi, Limpopo at the weekend.

Shebeshxt, born Lehlogonolo Chauke, was not given any medical attention as his management team is allegedly trying to avoid the eye of authorities since he was released from prison less than eight days ago.

This after he spent close to four months in jail for alleged violent spats including two counts of attempted murder.

Shebeshxt, who has been dubbed the bad boy of Bolo house music and amapiano due to clashes with the law, was allegedly assaulted by a fan at a tavern in a new development area, Machachaneng in Mohodi, Bochum in the middle of his performance.

He sustained injuries.

When contacted for comment on Monday, his irritated manager, Kholofelo Mawifelena,  insisted that the musician is doing fine.

“Shebeshxt is fine … why does it sound like you are fishing for controversy. I am his manager and not his spokesperson” Mawifelena said.

The muso, who is known for hit tracks such as Monateng, was not available for comment as his phone rang unanswered on Tuesday.

However, he took to his Facebook page on Sunday following the incident to declare that he was injured but said he will not retaliate to avoid going back to jail.

“They hit [me] with a bottle, they think I will fight with them and when I am done, I will go back to jail. I don’t want to live that life of beating people,” he said.

“To the person who hit me on my face, I say to you, you are the boss, you really hurt me.”

Shebeshxt, also known as President Ya Ma2K, is popular among the youth for his music which often includes violent lyrics and intimation towards his rivals.

He was released on bail less than a week ago after he appeared at the Lebowakgomo magistrate’s court on various criminal charges including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted murder.

The musician, who has been amassing bookings since his release, is also facing two counts of discharging a firearm after he allegedly fired four shots in the air at a family home in Ga-Mamaola village, Limpopo on April 10.

Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in Limpopo, said the rouge muso is expected back in court on September 6.
