The main highlight of the action-packed sporting weekend was Orlando Pirates booking a spot in the MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
On the other side, the weekend got longer for Kaizer Chiefs and coach Molefi Ntseki as their trophy drought continued after falling short in the semifinal of the cup competition.
Abroad, the Springboks must be feeling gutted after falling short against top-ranked Ireland side during their Pool B Rugby World Cup encounter on Saturday evening.

Bucs set up dream final against Brazilians
The Buccaneers edged past Stellenbosch FC on an away-goal rule when they lost 1-0 during their second-leg encounter at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.
Even though Pirates lost the game on the day and the aggregate score was 2-2, the Soweto giants did just enough in the first leg early in September when they managed two goals away from home.
They now will have an opportunity to defend their MTN8 crown when they go up against foes Sundowns at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on October 7.
Amakhosi, Ntseki troubles worsen
It has been a longer weekend for the Glamour Boys and embattled head coach following their dramatic exit from the Wafa Wafa cup competition.
The least said about goalkeeper Brandon Peterson, the better, as his shilly-shally performances continue to cost his team.
It took him just seconds into the game to make a goalkeeping error that handed Sundowns an early lead through goal poacher Peter Shalulile.
Amakhosi felt hard done by referee Luxolo Badi, who did not award them a penalty they thought should have gone their way in the dying minutes of the game.
Springboks shoot themselves in the foot
Despite the Boks falling short and losing the game 13-8, the Siya Kolisi-led side had the game in their hands and could have won had they converted penalty conversions.
The kicking in the Springboks team is still proving to be a serious challenge, as Manie Libbok’s miskicking towards the posts continues.
Unlike against Scotland in the first game when they still won amid poor kicking, this time it came back to bite the team, handing them their first defeat at the Rugby World Cup.
