Clash of the titans as Man City, Madrid prepare to battle it out

The day has finally come and another giant will fall in the UEFA Champions League when Manchester City tussle with Real Madrid in the semi-final second leg at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

Man City and Madrid played to a 1-1 stalemate draw in an exciting first-leg clash at the Santiago Bernabeu last week, which saw Brazilian star Vinicius Junior and Kevin de Bruyne both on target.

Both sides will be expected to fight tooth and nail as Madrid will be eager to continue their European dominance and walk away with the Champions League title after missing out on the La Liga title to old foes Barcelona.

Meanwhile, City will be desperate to clinch their maiden European title and go all the way to complete their first ever treble this season.

Last season, Los Blancos shattered the hearts of the Citizens when they overturned a 5-3 aggregate scoreline.

Rodrygo scored twice in the 90th minute to take the game into extra-time and eventually win it, after a cheeky Karim Benzema penalty kick that sent them to the final in style.

Pep Guardiola and his troops will undoubtedly be out for revenge against Carlo Ancelotti’s side, however, they will have to keep the likes of Vinicius, Rodrygo and Benzema at bay if they are to win and possibly go all the way to lift the prestigious trophy.

Victors will book themselves a meeting with Inter Milan in the final, who beat rivals AC Milan 1-0 (3-0 on aggregate) at San Siro on Tuesday night.

Kick-off is at 9pm.
