Legions of Kaizer Chiefs supporters are not impressed and are furious after the club’s technical director Molefi Ntseki was appointed as the head coach on Wednesday night.
Arthur Zwane, who was the head coach last season, will now become assistant coach together with his right hand man Dillon Sheppard.
Zwane, a Chiefs legend, had a turbulent first season as head coach of the SA glamour boys and Chiefs fans made it clear that they do not want Zwane at the helm this season.
The highly-rated but yet unproven Ntseki is a former Bafana Bafana and SA Under-17 coach who joined the Amakhosi after he failed to qualify Bafana for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
His selection as the head coach surprised all and sundry, especially with the Amakhosi supporters hoping that Tunisia-born and former Young Africans coach Nasreddine Nabi was touted as the favourite to join Chiefs.
The supporters were looking for a coach with a proven track record and someone who looks like he will hit the ground running with the club and most especially, end the club’s eight-year trophy drought.
Ntseki is a highly qualified coach and is draws a lot of respect from his peers. He did relatively well with Amajimbos and Bafana before imploding in the last qualifier against Libya.
Here is what some of the die-hard Chiefs supporters had to say after the appointment of Ntseki:
Mpumelelo Mashinini: Haai suka, I am leaving this joke of a club. I have long on the sidelines watching how they are destroying this brand, now they have done it worse.
Aubrey Mbusi Hlongwane: Moemishes of the year. The Motaungs are doing their on things with the club. Let them do it.
Sibusiso Shezi: I give up, this management is not serious about winning trophies. Another dry season is loading.
Dingaan Dee Dhlamini: Another rebuilding Season ooh Lord
Sduduzo Nkosi: Kaizer Chiefs born 1970 – died 2023/24 RIP
Tumi Friz Olifant: If we don’t finish top 3 this season aai I’m gone I’m too young for o much heartbreak
Athenkosi LeMfüx Mfungula: Congratulations to Orlando Pirates in advance for winning domestic cups again
Bra Tey: You guys undermine us fans. And you are very comfortable in doing so
Nkosinathi Dlamini: This team, which is performing poorly, should be relegated since the management no longer shows any interest in effectively running the team. Their sole focus seems to be on financial gains rather than team development.
