Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has reacted to the long-awaited confirmation that he will steer the Sundowns ship for a further four years at Chloorkop.
This after Masandawana officially announced that Mokwena signed a four-year contract extension with the DStv Premiership champions on Tuesday night.
The 36-year-old coach took to social media to thank the club, saying he is grateful to the club for giving him the opportunity to lead the club and believes there is still more to be done and achieved.
“Thank you for entrusting me with this enormous task of leading this club and its amazing supporters,” Mokwena tweeted.
“[I am] humbled by the trust and confidence given to me and the rest of the technical team. The Sky is the limit.

Club Chairman Tlhopie Motsepe said he is adamant that Mokwena has what it takes to deliver and achieve the goals that have been set by the club.
“The club strongly believes that the talented coach will take Mamelodi Sundowns to the heights that it deserves to be,” Motsepe said in a statement.
“With our supporters cheering us on throughout our big games – there’s every chance that coach Rulani and his technical team will achieve our ambitious goals for the football club.”
In his first season as the sole head coach, Mokwena broke numerous league records, helped Sundowns clinch their sixth successive league title, with seven games to go, and led his side to the Caf Champions League semi-final, where they fell short on away goal rule to Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.
