South African-born coach Pitso Mosimane has added the Yelo League title to his illustrious trophy collection, after guiding Al Ahli Saudi as the Saudi Arabia First Division champions on Tuesday night.
Al Ahli were confirmed as the champions with one game to spare, after second-placed Al Hazm lost 1-0 to Al Arabi, while Ahli beat Al Qadisiyah 1-0 in front of their home crowd at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.
Mosimane added a cherry on top with the league title, after recently securing promotion to the Saudi Pro League next season.
Jingles, as he is affectionately known, took to social media to celebrate the statement victory.
“Delivered on our mandate of promoting the team to Premier League, and tonight of winning the Championship!” Mosimane tweeted.
“In any league or competition, country, or continent, we catch Big Fish! Nile River before and tonight in the Red Sea. Waiting for the next Project.”

It goes without saying that Mosimane has been a formidable force in Saudi Arabia since taking over at Al Ahli in September 2022 – going unbeaten in 14 games and eventually clinching the February Coach of the month accolade.
The former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns coach has now clinched his first league title outside Africa.
The Royal will officially be crowned as the Second Division champions on Monday, when they travel to Al Hazm.
