Royalty Soapie Awards expanding to African countries

The annual Royalty Soapie Awards are back for their seventh installment and this time they are set to ignite the stage with a dazzling showcase of excellence in the world of African telenovelas.

In March this year, the Royalty Soapie Awards partnered with South African Tourism, to promote Tourism in South Africa, both locally and globally.

Winnie Ntshaba, founder and CEO of the awards, said she was proud to celebrate the diverse calibre of nominations from across the continent.

Three lucky public voters had a chance to rub shoulders with the who’s who of the entertainment industry and loved the red-carpet experience.

This year’s event promises to be a true spectacle, highlighting the very essence of television drama entertainment across the continent.

For the next installment, the awards welcome productions from various African countries onto a prestigious global platform.

Productions such as Zuba and Mpali from Zambia, Wura and Tinsel from Nigeria, Sanura and Kina from Kenya, and Sanyu and Prestige from Uganda are among the captivating narratives that will grace the stage of this year’s awards.

This year sees the introduction of exclusive Pan-African categories, Outstanding Pan-African Actor, Outstanding Pan-African Actress, and Outstanding Pan-African Soapie. These categories celebrate the diverse landscape of African storytelling and collaboration.

The awards represent not only accolades but also a force for positive change in the world of entertainment, shaping perspectives, fostering creativity, and uniting Africa through captivating narratives.

The Royalty Soapie Awards Ceremony will take place in March 2024. Entries for nominations are open from 1 September 2023 to 30 October 2023.
