It is a third-time lucky strike for award-winning musician Zahara as she is set to walk down the aisle in November in two wedding ceremonies.
The Loliwe hitmaker, born Bulelwa Mkutukana, got engaged to her boyfriend and engineer Mpho Xaba in March after dating for just six months.
She had been engaged twice before to previous partners, but never married them.
Close family friends have revealed that the muso is busy with preparations for a summer wedding, which will take place on her birthday month.
“She is going to have her traditional wedding followed by her white wedding and that is what she is currently preparing for,” said a friend.
On Friday, Zahara and Xaba celebrated his birthday. The pair has become inseparable since their surprise engagement.
Another source said the lovebirds are practically married, since he spends most of his time at her home in Ruimsig in the north of Johannesburg.
“They are always together. When she gigs around the country, she travels with him whenever possible. He has met her family, they are smitten with him. She is just happy,” the source added.
Zahara did not answer her phone and did not respond to text messages sent to her.
Xaba proposed to the Loliwe singer at her home in Johannesburg with close family and friends present.
“I’m happy. I’m excited. I love him. It was easy for me to say yes to him, because the first time I told him I love him, it was the truth,” she said at the time.
This is her third proposal, after she was engaged to Umhlobo Wenene FM radio presenter Amaza Ntshanga in 2017. In 2019, the singer reportedly got engaged again, to Ian Sibiya, but later broke off the engagement.
