Award-winning rapper Nasty C is both nervous and excited about his upcoming album Love It Here, which drops on Friday.
Born Nsikayesizwe Ngcobo, Nasty C launched his fifth studio album at Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria at the weekend.
The musician shared that the album is rather personal and that he felt okay with being vulnerable and expressing his emotions as a new dad.
The 26-year-old rapper, who grew up in Durban, welcomed his first child two months ago with his long-time girlfriend.
“I have a lot of new things happening in my life, some are good and some are bad. I feel like I’m a whole new person,” he said.
“When you listen to the song Release Me, I speak a lot about letting go of all the other things people know me for.”
He also spoke about being comfortable with who he really is, and who he spends most of his time with.
“Now I have someone to protect and I don’t think my music is going to change just because I now have a family.”
During the album launch, it was announced that Nasty C’s music had reached a milestone of 850-million streams.
He is currently on the African Throne World Tour with Cassper Nyovest.
The rapper was, however, trending on social media for wrong reasons after a video of him punching a fan during his recent performance in Zambia went viral.
In the video, a fan can be seen jumping on stage while Nasty C was performing.
Still with a microphone in his hand, the musician punched and kicked the man before security intervened.
