At the age of 28, Mashudu Marikhela is spreading her wings in a skincare business, where she helps create employment for youngsters in Tshwane and other parts of the country. She is the proud owner and founder of Nakie Skincare, a cosmetics brand that celebrates diversity and individuality in beauty. The business, which started operating in 2018, offers organic skincare solutions for scars, stretch marks, cellulite, dry skin, cracked lips and other skin conditions. “I am inspired by young South African youngsters who work hard in different fields to bring change in the lives of the people they live with. I realised that through my skincare products, I could create many jobs and be involved in the growth of the economy,” she says. Marikhela says at the beginning, her business was a hobby, but she later saw an opportunity to be a fully fledged businesswoman in the beauty industry.
