Temporary ban on the sale of alcohol remains in place: Ramaphosa

Johannesburg – President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday night said the country will remain under lockdown level four as the government scrambles to contain the surge of the third wave.

This means that the ban on the sale of alcohol stays in place for the next 14 days.

Ramaphosa also said the reopening of schools will be delayed to the 26th of this month.


Schools kids were intially expected to resume schooling next week.

However, Ramaphosa relaxed some of the restrictions.

Restaurants will now be able to host people at thier facilities, with no more than 50 patrons.

Gyms will also be allowed to operate.
