Wordsmith Ace Moloi, 29, was born in QwaQwa in the Free State and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science degree from the University of the Free State (UFS). Moloi runs The AM Writing Centre, a writing consultancy that offers creative, academic and business writing solutions, and editing services. The consultancy also conducts writing workshops for institutions and individuals. Moloi is also the co-founder of Art State, which specialises in arts journalism, social media management and overall integrated marketing solutions for the arts community. A freelance writer and current affairs radio presenter, Moloi has written four books - Holding My Breath; In Her Fall Rose a Nation; Tholwana Tsa Tokoloh and Diary of a Churchboy. He is the 2018 recipient of the UFS’s Chancellor’s Distinguished Young Alumnus Award. “It’s important that in whatever you do, you put more effort into preparing than you do into performance,” Moloi advises youth.
