Dr Mulaudzi used to head goats and plough vegetables at his village of Tshiozwi in Ha-Sinthumule in Vhembe District of Limpopo. “Poverty was the centre of my life and it discouraged me greatly at times but my love for reading was tremendous. A saint who saw potential in me applied at UL for me. This changed my life for good,” says Dr Mulaudzi. Since his admission at UL, Dr Mulaudzi went on to obtain a BSc degree (Physics and Chemistry), BSc Hons (Physics), MSc (Physics), PhD (Physics). He added PGCE (Senior and FET), PGDTE (Adult and Tertiary Education) both at the University of South Africa and PGDip (Extractive Metallurgy) from Wits University. His research focuses on computational chemistry, base metal sulphides and platinum group metals. Dr Mulaudzi has thus far supervised three honours students and presented in 25 national and international conferences
