Zisekho Ngcalikazi Geza, 28, of Ncora village, 15km from Tsomo, Eastern Cape, uses her marketing diploma and a Google Digital Skills Certificate to empower rural youth with digital skills, agri-business training and art. Geza is the co-founder of LivingRock Youth Development, a social enterprise she and business partner and co-founder, Buhle Ntshinka, dreamed up while studying at the Walter Sisulu University. It started operating in 2017 but was registered last year. “It started off as something we did among friends and grew to what it is today,” Geza states. It has adopted four underprivileged families and provided their younger members with part-time jobs. Geza, a proud member of the LGBTI+ community and a sales rep at Illovo Sugar Africa’s East London office, is appealing for funding to grow the organisation so it can help more rural youth. Her advice to youth: “Always take charge of your life, evolve and be willing to learn.”
