Brian Dube, 32, is the treasurer of Imbumba Arts Movement, a creative organisation based in Inanda outside Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. Since its formation in 2012, the organisation has helped several youngsters to hone skills in the creative industry through practical performances. Dube’s passion of building the dreams of youngsters has yielded positive results, as some of his talents get recognition through theatre performances, with some of the youngsters forming part of the production of Indoni SA, a multi-cultural project that also features on SABC. Dube is also a poet and performs his work at various events in his home province. For many years he also worked as a creative writer and director at the INK Art Festival. “I am an inspiration to many through my community work where I nurture young talent to become future stars,” says Dube. “As a community developer who has dedicated all his life in serving the youth within and beyond my community, I believe in making strides to bring change in the lives of the youngsters.”
