A digital copywriter by day and a humanitarian by night and on weekends, Inge-Marne Coetzee was born in Randburg, Johannesburg, and is halfway through her first pregnancy. However, she won’t slow down in her humanitarian work. Coetzee put aside a portion of her salary to open up her house in an effort to help underprivileged children get free swimming lessons. She also volunteers at nearby old age and children’s homes, including the Huis Mouton in Linden, Johannesburg. Her humanitarian instinct kicked in when Davy Tsopo was retrenched from his dish-washing job last year. Together with friends, Coetzee designed a logo for Tsopo’s successful online bakery business, Cakey by Davy. Also, when 21-year old Akhona Thwani lost her mother, a domestic worker, Coetzee raised funds for Thwani to complete matric at Taalnet Roodepoort School this year. “I love people. Helping others is in my blood. It’s my passion. As long as I live, I will keep on giving,” says Coetzee.
