The GoodMen Foundation
Sandile Khanyile, 32, of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, is armed with close protection (body-guarding) qualifications from South Africa and Serbia in Eastern Europe. He lives three interesting lives. In his first life, he’s the head of security for a CEO of an international entity. Khanyile’s second life involves being part of MG Executive Protection Services, which offers body-guarding, high-value asset escorting and witness protection services. In his third life, he’s head of programmes for The GoodMen Foundation (TGMF), a non-profit organisation founded in 2019 to protect women, children and vulnerable communities against abuse. “It takes a skilled, dangerous man to stop a bad guy from harming the innocent,” Khanyile says. In particular, TGMF seeks to increase men’s participation to combat gender-based violence (GBV). TGMF has partnered with eThekwini municipality in 16 Days of Activism Against GBV campaigns and has hosted a Men’s Dialogue where it unpacked the causes of GBV and potential solutions.
