The mere fact that Brand South Africa appointed Nomfundo Msomi, 30, as its Play Your Part ambassador two years ago, means she’s indeed on the right path. Born is Bulwer, KwaZulu-Natal’s Midlands, and later moved to Pietermaritzburg, Msomi is executive director of Women of Worth Movement Society (WOW), a female-led non-profit organisation she founded in 2016 with former co-director Nompumelelo Khathi, to free women from the bondage of emotional, psychological and social oppression, and to increase female participation in building a non-sexist and egalitarian society. Msomi, an entrepreneur and life coach, says their programmes include personal development, economic and sustainability development, mentorship and coaching, and parenting, among others. “Young people must study, work hard towards realising their dreams and never stop learning,” Msomi says. Last year, WOW launched its magazine titled Women of Worth, a digital platform covering women success stories. It is a go-to self-care guide for all women. Oh, wow.
