Uku khanya Projects
Nhlanhla Makhubu, 25, is the founder of Uku khanya Projects, which he established in 2017 in Wattville, east of Johannesburg in Gauteng. His organisation focuses on empowering communities through educational programmes. Uku khanya also partners with other non-profit organisations in the area to feed needy families. They also donate food parcels every month to keep the fires burning in struggling households. “I was inspired by the environment I grew up in. Witnessing scores of families going to bed hungry pained me. I wanted to get involved to make a change in my community,” says Makhubu. Uku khanya also runs career expos to help the youth make informed career choices.
