Rejoyce Kgabo Legodi, 25, a young journalist and social activist from Mmotong, Moletjie in Limpopo, represented South Africa at the 5th Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp (GEB) in Bangkok, Thailand in 2019. Her community and the Limpopo department of economic development paid for her flight tickets and accommodation to make sure that Legodi, the official country’s GEB director, attends the four-day bootcamp. The annual bootcamp brings together young entrepreneurs, students and professionals around the world to collaborate and create new start-ups. Legodi, a BA Public Admin graduate from the University of Limpopo, regularly attends her community’s integrated development planning meetings to keep abreast of community needs. Last year, Legodi who joined Limpopo Guide, a travel, leisure and lifestyle magazine, as a journalist, scooped Limpopo’s top-performing journalist accolade at the Sinelizwi Citizen Journalism Awards. “I’m not too young to stand up for issues I’m passionate about, which are to build a winning nation and sustainable communities,” Legodi says.
